This is Finnish beer brand Karhus street advertisement. It is saying that ”By buying Karhu you can not win a spa holiday but you will get full beer.” In my opinion the advertisement is making fun of advertisements that say that ”buy this and this and you can win this and that” and it wants to get back to basics. Just buy this beer and you will get – full beer. In all of its simplicity it is very efficient, funny, entertaining and  honest. The text is straight forward and clear.

The visual look is kept very clean, there is nothing irrelevant added. Just like what it is suggesting.

The “Täyttä olutta”, Full beer is Karhu’s slogan and it is stated there clearly next to a logo. Karhu has a range of other advertisements like this, bold and clear. Masculine yes, but hey – it is beer. This probably works mos efficiently for the male audience, it remains me of Finnish men. Kept simple, straight forward without anything extra added 😉

In Finland beer is one of those things that would not really need advertising but I think no one minds a funny one like this every once in a while. This advertisement also won a second-place award in street-advertisement category Finnish advertisement competition Kultajyvä 2013.

Yeah, I feel like buying some full beer. No need for a spa holiday.

  1. That’s an advertisement for the Finnish taste! Simple and gets straight to the point. And I think Finns will buy beer anyways, no matter what the ad says 😉

  4. These and other Finnish breweries have advertised quite aggressively, before restrictions will deny that. 🙂 I like Karhu’s campaign myself, so nice pick for the topic.

  9. I think this is a good advertisement. It shows simplicity. As is karhu representators are saying we give you what we are telling you, the beer,not less no more, you can trust us… It is easy to remember and rather fun.
